Thyroid Collar — X-Ray Radiation Protection

This thyroid collar wraps around the neck to protect the thyroid gland from scatter during fluoroscopy, interventional work, and diagnostic X-ray. At 0.5 mm Pb and a full-collar 600 × 150 mm size, it covers the thyroid area without restricting head movement or getting in the way of a lead apron.

The shielding core is made from nano-sized lead particles blended with rare metal powders and vulcanized into natural rubber — lightweight, thin, and flexible, with even material distribution throughout. The outer cover is a custom PU fabric (or Oxford cloth) with a double-layer waterproof coating, so it wipes clean and holds up to daily clinic use. A hook-and-loop closure with a premium-grade hook fastener keeps it secure and stands up to repeated opening and closing. Multiple colors available.

Why It Matters

The thyroid sits right in the primary scatter zone during most fluoroscopy and C-arm work, and it's one of the more radiation-sensitive organs. A collar is the simplest way to add that layer of protection — this one is light enough to wear through a full case without neck fatigue, and flexible enough to stay comfortable when you're turning to watch monitors.

The waterproof outer layer means you can wipe it down between patients without fluid soaking into the core. The hook-and-loop closure stays put during movement and releases cleanly when you're done.
