Cattle Fence Mesh Material and Structure

Cattle Fence is mainly manufactured using hot-dip galvanized steel wire, providing a strong and durable structure for long-term outdoor use. The zinc coating is generally around 60–100 g/m², while approximately 230 g/m² may be used in areas with higher humidity or more demanding environmental conditions.

In some African markets and specific applications, cold-galvanized steel wire may also be used. The standard wire is generally 2.5 mm Grade D hard steel wire with a zinc coating, providing the strength required for livestock fencing applications.

The fence mesh is woven from high-strength steel wire or alloy wire and installed together with steel pipe posts or wooden posts. Connecting and fixing components are used to secure the mesh firmly to the posts and create a stable livestock enclosure.

Most Cattle Fence products use an automatic hinge-joint woven structure, in which the longitudinal and transverse wires are mechanically twisted and connected. Some configurations use a combination of horizontal steel wires and vertical iron wires according to specific application requirements.

High-Strength Cattle Fence for Livestock Protection

Cattle Fence is designed to withstand the impact and pulling forces generated by livestock.

The high-strength galvanized steel wires provide strong tensile performance, while the woven mesh structure distributes impact forces across the fence. This allows the fence to withstand strong contact from cattle, horses, sheep, and other grazing animals.

Compared with lightweight fencing materials, galvanized steel livestock fencing provides a more stable physical barrier for large-scale grassland and farm applications.

Corrosion-Resistant Cattle Fencing

Long-term outdoor exposure requires a fence material that can withstand moisture, rain, temperature changes, and other environmental conditions.

The steel wires and corrugated wire sections of Cattle Fence are galvanized to improve corrosion resistance. Other connecting and fixing components can also receive anti-rust and corrosion-resistant treatments.

Depending on the material, zinc coating, installation environment, and maintenance conditions, a properly installed Cattle Fence can provide a service life of 20 years or longer in suitable conditions.

For humid regions or areas with more demanding environmental conditions, a higher zinc coating weight can be selected to provide additional protection.

Flexible and Shock-Absorbing Cattle Fence Mesh

One important characteristic of woven livestock fencing is its ability to absorb and distribute impact.

The horizontal wires are processed using a corrugation or crimping process, which increases the elasticity and buffering capacity of the fence. When livestock push against the fence, the woven structure can provide a certain degree of flexibility instead of remaining completely rigid.

This flexible structure also helps accommodate expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. As a result, the fence can maintain appropriate tension under changing outdoor conditions while reducing the risk of deformation caused by thermal movement.

Easy-to-Install Livestock Fence

Cattle Fence has a relatively simple structure and is supplied in compact rolls, making it convenient to transport to grasslands, farms, ranches, and other remote installation locations.

The lightweight roll format makes handling easier, while standardized fence components and connection methods can help simplify installation. The mesh is generally installed between steel or wooden posts using suitable fixing and connecting components.

Because the system does not require a complicated structural assembly, Cattle Fence can help shorten the construction period for large grazing areas and livestock enclosures.

Cattle Fence Mesh Sizes

Different mesh dimensions can be selected according to livestock type, fence height, and application requirements.

Common mesh heights include 89 mm, 102 mm, and 114 mm, while common mesh widths include:

150 mm/200 mm/250 mm/300 mm

The mesh configuration can be selected according to the size and behavior of the livestock being contained. Smaller openings can provide closer spacing, while larger openings can be used for suitable livestock and grazing environments.

Cattle Fence Height and Roll Length

Cattle Fence is generally supplied with a fence height of no more than 2.0 m, depending on the application.

Common fence heights include: 1.2 m/1.8 m

The roll length is commonly available in: 50 m/100 m

Different heights and roll lengths allow the fencing system to be adapted to small farm enclosures as well as large grassland and ranch boundaries.

Cattle Fence Application

  • 6

    Cattle Fence for Livestock Separation

One of the main applications of Cattle Fence is livestock separation and management.
On large farms and grasslands, cattle and other animals may need to be separated according to species, breed, age, growth stage, or management requirements. Cattle Fence can divide a grazing area into different sections, making livestock management more organized.
By establishing separate enclosures, farmers can reduce unnecessary interaction between different groups of animals and create more controlled grazing areas.

Cattle Fencing for Preventing Livestock Escape

A properly installed Cattle Fence provides a continuous physical barrier around grazing areas and livestock farms.
The high-strength steel wire structure and appropriate mesh configuration can help prevent cattle, horses, sheep, and other livestock from leaving designated grazing areas. This is particularly important for large grasslands where uncontrolled livestock movement can result in animals becoming lost or entering roads and neighboring properties.
By keeping livestock within designated areas, Cattle Fencing can help improve farm management and reduce potential economic losses caused by escaped animals.

    Manufacturing Technologies

Cattle Fence also plays an important role in grassland management.
By dividing large grazing areas into different sections, farmers can implement rotational grazing systems and control where livestock feed. This helps prevent animals from continuously grazing the same area and can reduce the risk of overgrazing.
With appropriate fence planning, different sections of grassland can be used and rested at different times. This provides a practical method for managing grazing intensity and supporting the sustainable use of grassland resources.

Cattle Fence for Farms and Ranches

Cattle Fence is suitable for a wide range of livestock farming environments, including cattle ranches, sheep farms, horse farms, grassland ranches, and large-scale outdoor grazing areas.
The combination of galvanized steel wire, woven construction, flexible structure, and corrosion-resistant surface treatment makes it suitable for long-term outdoor livestock management.
Fence height, mesh opening, wire diameter, zinc coating, roll length, and post configuration can be selected according to the specific farm layout and livestock requirements.

    Other Applications of Cattle Fence

Although primarily designed for livestock management, Cattle Fence can also be used in a variety of agricultural, forestry, and outdoor applications.
It can be used as a boundary fence for farmland, a protective enclosure for forest nurseries, and a barrier for forest conservation and reforestation areas.
Cattle Fence can also be used for enclosure and boundary management in tourist areas and hunting grounds, as well as for temporary or long-term isolation and maintenance around construction sites.
Its simple structure and adaptable installation make it suitable for different outdoor boundary and separation requirements.
