Material & Weaving Foundation
Composition: 100% Polyester. Stable fabric base with short-dense pile surface, resistant to shedding and pile crushing.
Base fabric process: After pile-cutting, the gray fabric goes through sanding and matting finishing to form a frosted matte base with short-dense pile. It is further treated with two post-finishing procedures: physical embossing and subtle cloud-pattern printing. Embossing creates concave-convex texture on the pile surface, while printing delivers tonal gradient shading. Combined effects generate soft hazy textures such as water-ripple and cloud-mottled patterns as shown in reference pictures. Customizable patterns include cloud texture, water ripple, bark grain, marble grain and other textures.
Regular weight: 200-350GSM, custom weight available.
Common widths: 145cm, 280cm extra-wide width. Extra-wide width suits curtains and full-panel upholstery for sofas to minimize seam joints.
Physical Performance
Inherits outstanding abrasion-resistance of frosted velvet. Furniture-grade version delivers high Martindale abrasion rating for high-frequency furniture-upholstery applications. Main pile surface resists pilling and linting after printing & embossing; abrasion resistance of embossed concave areas is slightly inferior to full-pile zones.
Good wrinkle recovery; fabric bounces back after squeezing and crumpling with minimal permanent creases.
Low shrinkage rate with pre-shrinking finishing at factory, ensuring good dimensional stability after washing.
Good air permeability, non-sticky to skin, suitable for all-season use.
Good indoor light fastness; resists yellowing and discoloration for long-term indoor application. Not suitable for prolonged outdoor exposure.
Processing Compatibility
Good cutting & sewing performance; resistant to edge-rolling and fraying, user-friendly for sewing operations.
Compatible with secondary processes including printing, embossing, glue-pressing, hot-stamping and lamination.
Available with authoritative eco-certifications including OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and OEKO-TEX Step to satisfy diversified customer requirements.
