Product Overview

A hide that drops beside the dressing rail quickly becomes a handling and sanitation problem. The Sheep Skin Belt Conveyor collects released sheep or goat skins at the puller and transports them to a grading table, curing area, by‑product room or external container. The belt creates one planned route and reduces repeated lifting through the wet processing zone.

The listed configuration is six metres long with a 450 mm food‑grade nylon belt. Stainless rectangular tube forms the supporting frame, while raised stainless guards help retain the load. Both drive and driven shafts are stainless steel. Because hides are irregular, wet and sometimes folded, the conveyor should be sized for the actual drop point and discharge height rather than selected on belt width alone.

Working Principle

The drive motor turns the head shaft and moves the endless belt along the conveyor bed. A released hide lands on the loading section and is carried toward the discharge point; side guards reduce the chance of it sliding off. The return strand travels beneath the carrying surface and passes around the tail shaft. Operators remove or divert skins at the outlet. During cleaning, the belt should be slackened or lifted where the design permits so that the underside, rollers, guards and return path can be reached.

Application

The conveyor serves hide collection beneath pneumatic, electric or hydraulic sheep skin pullers. It can also move paunches or other by‑products when the belt, guards and sanitation procedure are separately validated for that duty. Specify the loading height, transfer direction, incline, discharge chute, wash access and operator crossings before fabrication. A dedicated use is preferable where edible and inedible streams must remain separated.

Reference Application Case

Reference application: a 180‑head‑per‑hour goat line installs the conveyor directly behind a hydraulic puller

Skins fall onto a short low‑level loading section, then travel through a wall opening to a separate hide room. A removable stainless chute centres the drop without touching the belt, and an interlocked pull cord runs along the operator side. The sanitation team can access both shafts and the return belt from a hinged guard. This example illustrates integration points; it is not a claim about a named plant.

Advantages

  • 1. Creates a defined hide route and reduces floor contact

  • 2. Lowers manual carrying between the dehiding station and hide room

  • 3. Simple belt drive is familiar to most maintenance teams

  • 4. Stainless frame and shafts suit a frequently washed processing area

  • 5. Length, height and discharge can be adapted to the building layout
