Product Overview

Hydrazine Hydrate – a powerful reducing agent and oxygen scavenger – serves high-purity roles in analytical and electronic fields. Reagent Grade (AR and GR) supports synthetic chemistry where controlled reduction determines product purity. Electronic Grade serves sensitive manufacturing where trace metals and particles cannot be tolerated.

Unlike oxidizing agents that accept electrons, Hydrazine Hydrate donates electrons. This reductive power makes it valuable for removing dissolved oxygen and preventing corrosion. AR meets analytical reagent standards. GR offers tighter impurity control. Electronic Grade removes trace metals for sensitive electronics applications.

Typical specification: 24% to 80% N₂H₄·H₂O. Low chloride and heavy metal content. Each grade ships with a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis.

Grades Available: AR | GR | Electronic Grade

Why Choose Our High-Purity Hydrazine Hydrate

Certified Purity, Fully Traceable – Every container includes a COA documenting actual concentration and metal impurity levels. You receive verified data for your quality records.

Three Grades for Different Applications – AR for routine organic synthesis. GR for stricter analytical requirements. Electronic Grade for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.

Lab-Ready Packaging – Supplied in 100mL, 500mL, 1L glass ampoules or HDPE bottles. Nitrogen-blanketed where appropriate.

Export Track Record – 13 years in chemical exports. Complete documentation supports your quality system.

Solutions We Provide

Oxygen Scavenger Testing (Boiler Water) – Analytical laboratories use reagent hydrazine hydrate to prepare standards for dissolved oxygen removal tests. It reacts with oxygen to form water and nitrogen. This property helps evaluate corrosion inhibitors in power plant water treatment.

Polymer Blowing Agent Intermediate – Reagent hydrazine hydrate serves as a precursor in synthesizing azodicarbonamide and other blowing agents. These agents create gas bubbles in foamed plastics and rubber. Consistent concentration ensures predictable gas evolution rates during polymer processing.

Electronic Grade Metal Passivation – Electronic Grade Hydrazine Hydrate removes oxide layers from metal surfaces without aggressive etching. It passivates copper, nickel, and their alloys in electronics manufacturing. The high purity prevents surface contamination that could affect solderability or wire bonding.

Semiconductor Residue Removal – In certain semiconductor manufacturing steps, electronic grade hydrazine hydrate selectively removes specific residues. The particle-free formulation prevents surface defects. Controlled reduction chemistry protects sensitive device features.

Pharmaceutical Intermediate Synthesis – Reagent hydrazine hydrate is used to produce isoniazid (anti-tuberculosis medication) and other pharmaceutical intermediates. GR grade meets purity standards for API manufacturing.

Research Laboratory Reductions – Organic synthesis labs use reagent hydrazine hydrate for Wolff-Kishner reductions, converting aldehydes and ketones to alkanes. It also reduces nitro groups to amines.

Related Products & Important Notice

Azodicarbonamide (ADA), Technical Grade – Direct downstream blowing agent; polymer customers may purchase both

Sodium Sulfite (Na₂SO₃), AR Grade – Alternative oxygen scavenger; water treatment labs sometimes compare both chemistries

Hydrochloric Acid (HCl), AR Grade – Used for pH adjustment in hydrazine-based reactions

Note: Reagent and electronic grades differ from industrial hydrazine hydrate. Never substitute industrial grade in analytical work – impurities will affect synthesis and testing.

Important – Toxic – Potential Carcinogen – Reducing Agent

Hydrazine Hydrate is toxic and classified as a potential human carcinogen. Absorbs through skin. Use in fume hoods. Segregate from oxidizers (violent reaction), heat, and strong acids. Store in cool, ventilated areas under inert atmosphere where possible. Contact us for SDS.
