About this product

Product information from the supplier.

Product Overview

Formaldehyde Solution – also called Formalin – reaches refined purity levels for laboratory and electronics applications. Reagent Grade (AR and GR) supports analytical chemistry where consistent concentration determines fixation quality. Electronic Grade serves semiconductor manufacturing where trace metals cannot be tolerated.

Unlike industrial formalin containing unknown impurities, these high-purity forms come with certified specifications. Methanol stabilizer prevents polymerization. AR meets analytical reagent standards. GR offers tighter impurity control. Electronic Grade removes metals for sensitive electronics applications.

Typical specification: 37% – 40% formaldehyde with 10-15% methanol stabilizer. Each grade ships with a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis.

Grades Available: AR | GR | Electronic Grade

Why Choose Our High-Purity Formaldehyde Solution

Certified Purity, Fully Traceable – Every container includes a COA documenting actual formaldehyde content and metal impurity levels. You receive verified data for your quality records.

Three Grades for Different Applications – AR for routine histology and testing. GR for stricter analytical requirements. Electronic Grade for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.

Lab-Ready Packaging – Supplied in 500mL, 1L, 2.5L, 5L bottles. Stabilized formulation prevents polymerization during storage.

Export Track Record – 13 years in chemical exports. Complete documentation supports your quality system.

Solutions We Provide

Tissue Fixation for Histology – Pathology and research laboratories use reagent formaldehyde solution to fix biological tissues. Cross-linking proteins preserves cellular structure for microscopic examination. Consistent concentration ensures reproducible fixation quality across different tissue blocks.

Residue Testing on Medical Devices – Analytical labs test for formaldehyde residues on sterilized medical devices and packaging. Reagent grade serves as a positive control for method validation. Low impurities prevent false positives in residue detection.

Electronics Component Cleaning – Electronic Grade Formaldehyde Solution removes organic residues from electronic assemblies. The high purity prevents metal introduction that could affect electrical performance. Used in specific cleaning protocols where aldehyde chemistry is required.

Semiconductor Wafer Processing – In certain semiconductor manufacturing steps, electronic grade formaldehyde serves as a reducing agent or cross-linking agent. The particle-free formulation prevents surface defects. Stabilized concentration ensures process consistency.

Air Quality Testing – Environmental laboratories test formaldehyde levels in indoor air and workplace environments. Reagent formaldehyde solution provides standard concentrations for calibrating detection equipment and preparing quality control samples.

Pharmaceutical Quality Control – Pharmaceutical QC labs test raw materials and finished products. Reagent formaldehyde solution serves as a reference standard for compendial tests. Batch-specific documentation supports regulatory inspections.

Related Products & Important Notice

Methanol (CH₃OH), AR/GR Grade – Stabilizer component and solvent; analytical labs using formalin may also need methanol

Paraformaldehyde ((CH₂O)ₙ), AR Grade – Solid polymerized form; histology labs sometimes use both liquid and solid forms

Glutaraldehyde (C₅H₈O₂), AR Grade – Alternative aldehyde fixative; some histology applications specify glutaraldehyde instead

Note: Reagent and electronic grades differ from industrial formalin. Never substitute industrial grade in analytical work – impurities will affect fixation and test results.

Important – Toxic Vapor – Carcinogen – Fume Hood Required

Formaldehyde solution releases irritating vapor and is classified as a carcinogen. Use in fume hoods. Wear appropriate PPE including gloves and goggles. Store in well-ventilated areas away from heat. Polymerizes if stabilizer evaporates – keep containers tightly sealed. Contact us for SDS.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question

Answer

What is the difference between AR and GR?

GR (Guaranteed Reagent) has tighter impurity specifications than AR (Analytical Reagent).

What is electronic grade used for?

Electronics component cleaning, semiconductor wafer processing, and residue removal.

Do you provide COA with each bottle?

Yes – each lot has a Certificate of Analysis showing formaldehyde content.

What packaging sizes are available?

500mL, 1L, 2.5L, 5L bottles.

How does it differ from industrial formalin?

Certified purity, low metal content, batch traceability, and lab-friendly packaging.

Why does it have methanol?

Stabilizer prevents polymerization during storage and transport.

Do you offer samples?

Small bottle samples available for qualified labs.

Lead time?

10–15 days after order confirmation.
