The outside is light yellow kraft, not the dark brown kind; the lighter tone looks clean when you put it out. Inside the paper there is a corrugated layer, so it gives and springs back when you press it — in transit it can be pressed and knocked without the corners denting, and what is inside does not slide around. Natural kraft varies a little in shade from batch to batch; we use one batch of paper for a single order, so the boxes within one order match.

Right now the box carries one silver circle mark and a line of small text, and it does not take up much room. Silver sits well on light yellow kraft: it does not stand out loudly, but you can tell at a glance that it was made for you. When the light moves across it, the silver brightens with it, and thin lines and small marks do not blur into one — this lettering and mark are hot-stamped in silver, and they do not come off when you touch them.

-Fold the lid over and push the two ears into the slots on the sides

One person can set up a box in a few seconds, with nothing to tape and no scissors to hunt for.

When it is empty the box is one flat sheet, and stacked up the pile stays thin — a shelf holds several times as many flat boxes as set-up ones. Shipping is the same: it takes up little space, so more stock fits in the same storeroom.

This one carries only a silver mark; anything else can be added:

-A full-face pattern or an illustration

-An extra line of text — a slogan, a web address, or a size guide

-Printing on the inside, so it is there when the box is opened

-The silver mark changed to gold, or to another colour

The kraft colour does not have to be covered up, and a pattern sitting on it keeps a natural look. The box is made of paper, so it can go in with paper recycling.
